School,
the most amazing and wonderful place to learn, grow and have fun. It is the
school only where a girl becomes a woman and a boy transforms into a man, if
the education imparted is at its best. But has someone ever thought how vast
can this education circle be? Education doesn’t always mean teaching lessons.
Is the overall education of a child accomplished with his full marks and top
grades. I surely believe that many people will agree with me on this notion
that lessons and studies alone will not fetch students till the end or after
the school, but it is the moral and ethical values which will really help them in
building their career and broadening their thinking; rightly said “kaabil bano,
kamyabi jakh mar ke piche aaegi” ( be capable, success will automatically follow you). I have visited many schools in Jammu, where
except for teaching lessons and taking classes, students are not provided with
any co-curricular activities, extra classes for drama, culture or any other
sports. Sometimes students suffer
because they miss out many opportunities to socialize, acquire knowledge, and
gain the skills and sense of autonomy which are needed to improve their
personal well-being. Many activities and facilities have to be improved;
children should know the actual meaning of a healthy environment. They should
be taught in a way so that they realize the need of the country, the benefits
of an honest and corrupt free environment and the respect in being a true man.
Just think, if schools could commit to this philosophy, what miraculous wonders
it can make happen.
